The first step is to fill out our easy application form! We will receive your information and be in touch to ask you a few questions about your interest.

There are many ways to be a Bee Platoon Rescuer, whether you can deploy to a disaster, or you just want to support from home! When you fill out the form, you will automatically join our newsletter where we will have information on upcoming trainings, new disaster deployments, opportunities, and the latest news.

here are ways you can be part of the team!

  • We will need a major logistics and support structure! We have developed many partnerships and working groups and want to have you help us leverage those.

    Some of that support includes:

    • Using our list to contact beekeeping associations and partners

    • Soliciting Donations

    • Arranging for Logistics on the ground.

    During a disaster, your support will make it possible for our ground operations to work! And it can all be done from home!

  • We are looking for people to come with us! You will come with us to a disaster area where we will provide a critical lifeline beekeepers and pollinators! Some activities include:

    • Evacuating Hives

    • Donating Supplies

    • Rescuing Swarms

    • Assisting First Responders

    And so much more! We’re looking for a devoted group of elite honeybee responders!

This training is the only one of its kind in the world!

In this innovative, live, hands-on training, you will learn all the skills you need when we send you to disaster zones around the US to work with beekeepers and first responders as a Bee Platoon rescue responder.

You will learn the emergency leadership structure used by first responders and emergency management and procedures, equipment and supplies, with a culmination being an exciting hands-on disaster drill!

  • We show you how to stay safe and work in a disaster zone!

    We show you the Incident Command System, Safety, Emergency Procedures and Protocols. We will also show you how we deploy you and what equipment we use.

  • This is the fun part!

    We show you our cutting-edge methods of Honeybee Evacuation, Shelter-in-Place, Lockdown, emergency outdoor swarm response.

    We then test your skills with a Live, Full-Scale Exercise of a real scenario, simulating an evacuation with an emergency team.

Be ready for our callout!

Throughout the year, we will be doing call-outs through text and email for those willing to assist in a disaster, whether you can deploy or only act from home. If you are available and willing, we will give you all the information you need.

Once you arrive, we brief you on safety and security, and then issue you any additional equipment, and send you out doing various tasks for beekeepers and first responders. Each activation will be very different!
